In the recent four h2h games, West Ham were a lot better (result-wise), winning two, while the other two matches ended as draws. However, those matches were super close, and Everton arguably didn't deserve to lose any of those matches.
Looking further back, in the last ten h2h games, West Ham won five, while Everton won three times. When it comes to the number of goals, only three out of those ended with three or more goals, while both teams scored on four occasions.
Everton team overview
After four pretty underwhelming seasons where they came pretty close to the relegation zone, Everton finally started the year well and were especially good at home. The Toffees are tenth with seven points from the first five rounds. However, excluding the Liverpool game, they have had a fairly easy schedule, and it will be interesting to see what they will get from the upcoming games, considering they will face Crystal Palace, Manchester City, and Tottenham after the West Ham match.
In the previous game against Wolves in the EFL Cup, the Toffees lost 2:0. After the match, coach David Moyes spoke to the media. He was really unhappy with the loss, saying Wolves weren't better, as they dominated most of the second half but couldn't find a way of getting a goal. The coach added Wolves haven't had any real big chances to score.

West Ham team overview
West Ham came into this season after a terrible one last year. The Hammers won just 43 points and ended up 14th. However, 43 points are often not enough to secure survival. Still, luckily for them, the bottom three teams last year were simply atrocious, and they secured survival rather easily despite a low number of points acquired.
However, if the last season was bad, what can one say about the start to this one?! The Hammers won just three points (vs struggling Nottingham) in the first five rounds. Besides their poor start in the PL, they also lost the EFL Cup 1/32 Finals vs Wolves.
For the upcoming game vs Everton, the team will be without Aaron Wan Bissaka, who is out with a stomach problem. Additionally, Tomas Soucek will serve the second out of his three-game suspension after receiving a red card vs Tottenham.

Prediction
Everton have been excellent defensively in recent seasons, especially at home. That continued with those performances this year, keeping a clean sheet vs Brighton and Aston Villa in the PL and Mansfield in the EFL Cup. Due to their fantastic defense at home, they went under 2.5 goals in all three matches.
West Ham have been pretty bad offensively this season, scoring one or zero goals in four out of five Premier League games - 80% So, expecting a great offensive display vs the Toffees seems very unlikely.
Additionally, seven of their last ten h2h games ended with fewer than three goals. Considering the trend in the previous h2h games, Everton's great defensive performances at home, and all the above, an under2.5 goals bet seems like the best possible bet for this PL tie.
3 Reasons why we should see fewer than three goals
- Everton went under 2.5 goals in all three home games
- West Ham scored one or zero goals in four out of five PL games
- Seven out of the last ten h2h games ended with fewer than three goals
Main prediction Everton - West Ham United
Under 2.5 goals
