La Liga
Last season in the Segunda Division, Levante held a slight advantage over Elche in their meetings. The first clash ended 1-1, while Levante claimed a 3-1 victory in the return fixture. Historically, neither club has shown clear dominance, with most encounters being tightly contested and often decided by fine margins.
Elche team overview
Elche have made a steady return to La Liga, drawing both of their opening matches. They held Real Betis to a 1-1 draw at home before impressively earning another 1-1 result against Atlético Madrid on matchday two. Solid defensive displays are no surprise given Elche’s record last season, when they boasted the best defense in the Segunda, conceding only 34 goals across 42 matches.
There are no injuries or suspensions ahead of this fixture. Elche will once again look to quick attacking transitions and the strike partnership of Alvaro Rodríguez and Rafa Mir to make the difference.

Levante team overview
Levante have endured a more difficult start to life back in the top flight. Julián Calero Fernandez’s men suffered consecutive defeats — a 2-1 loss on opening day, followed by a spirited yet narrow 3-2 defeat to defending champions FC Barcelona. Scoring twice against Barca was no accident, though, as Levante carried the second-best attack in the Segunda last season.
Like their opponents, Levante are also expected to have a full squad available. Much will depend on Ivan Romero, who netted nine goals in the Segunda last term and remains their key attacking outlet.

Prediction
Elche’s disciplined start, combined with their reputation for defensive solidity, suggests this will be a tight encounter. With Levante still without a point and facing one of the most resilient defenses from last season - Elche only conceded 34 goals in 42 games and kept a remarkable 19 clean sheets - goals may be hard to come by. For this reason, we predict Under 2.5 goals.
Three reasons we expect Under 2.5 Goals Total
- Under 2.5 goals were scored in Elche’s first two La Liga matches of the season.
- Under 2.5 goals were scored in 3 of the last 4 H2H meetings between Elche and Levante.
- Elche were the best defensive team in the Segunda last season, keeping 19 clean sheets and conceding only 0.8 goals per game on average
