On Thursday evening, Eintracht Frankfurt Women and Real Madrid Women will clash in the first leg of the UEFA Women's Champions League third qualifying round. The match will be played at Stadion am Brentanobad in Frankfurt. Let's take a closer look at the matchup and find the best possible bet for this tie.
Eintracht Frankfurt W team overview
Eintracht Frankfurt W, a four-time Women's Champions League winner, haven't had much success in recent seasons in the CL. After winning their last title in 2014/15, they had a good run the following season, reaching the Semi-Finals. However, since then, they have only had one group stage appearance and now will have a difficult task in the qualifiers against Real Madrid W.
This season started great for the Frankfurt team, winning their season opener 5:0 against SGS Essen W.
On September 4th, just one day before the start of the Bundesliga W, the club added Amanda Ilestedt from Arsenal W. She was one of the best players on the field vs SGS Essen W, even scoring a goal. Her arrival should be a massive upgrade for this team.

Real Madrid W team overview
Real Madrid Women were founded just 11 years ago, but only in recent seasons have they established themselves as regular participants in the UEFA Women's Champions League group stage. They managed to secure the last four tournaments, with Quarter Finals being their best placement (previous season and the 2021/22 season). They also became the second-best team in Spain behind Barcelona, but they haven't had a good start this year, far from it. They opened the season with one point in the first two games against DUX Logrono and Atl. Madrid, and coming to this game with terrible momentum.
After a 2:1 loss in the last game against Atletico Madrid W, coach Pau Quesada spoke to the media. He didn't talk much about the game, but was generally unhappy and focused mainly on the match against Eintracht Frankfurt W. "We have to shift gears because a very strong opponent is coming, and we need to arrive with energy," the coach added.

Prediction
Eintracht Frankfurt W started the season with a great 5:0 win over SGS Essen W, but have been fantastic offensively in the pre-season as well. They managed to score two or more in all five friendlies. If we combine this season, the previous season, and the pre-season, they scored two or more goals in the last nine games! Because of those good offensive performances, they went over 2.5 goals in eight of those previous nine matches and an incredible 5.1 goals per game!
Real Madrid W went over 2.5 goals in both games this season (2:2 draw with DUX Logrono W and a 2:1 loss vs Atl. Madrid W). Including the friendlies, Real Madrid W went over 2.5 goals in all four games while really struggling defensively.
Also, looking at their last season's results in the Women's Champions League, we mostly saw high-scoring games. Nine of the last ten in the CL ended with three or more goals (90%).
Considering all the above, we believe we should see a high-scoring game, most likely with both teams scoring.
4 Reasons why we should see three or more goals
- Eintracht Frankfurt W won the first game of the season 5:0 vs SGS Essen W
- Including friendlies, Eintracht Frankfurt W went over 2.5 goals in six consecutive games
- Real Madrid W went over 2.5 goals in both games this season
- Real Madrid W went over 2.5 goals in nine out of ten last season's CL games
Main prediction Eintracht Frankfurt W - Real Madrid W
Over 2.5 goals
