Eintracht Frankfurt face their first fixture of 2026 following a 1:1 draw at Hamburg at the end of December. Hugo Larsson's first goal of the season secured a point for Dino Toppmoller's side. 

Eintracht were not at their best before the recent winter break, winning just one of six previous fixtures across all competitions. However, despite a dip in performance, Frankfurt lost only one of their nine most recent Bundesliga fixtures, while they picked up ten points from their four previous home games. 

Toppmoller's men have a strong record in recent meetings between these sides at Deutsche Bank Park, remaining unbeaten in their last three encounters. Eight of their last 11 meetings also finished with both teams on the scoresheet.

Head coach Toppmoller has a handful of selection concerns this weekend. Jonathan Burkardt and Farès Chaïbi are ruled out, while Timothy Chandler, Michy Batshuayi, Elias Baum and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya are all listed as doubtful.

Borussia Dortmund make the trip to Deutsche Bank Park looking to build on a comfortable 2:0 win against Monchengladbach last month. Julian Brandt opened the scoring at Signal Iduna Park before Maximilian Beier's goal deep in stoppage-time secured the points for Niko Kovač's side.

Now set for their first fixture in three weeks, Dortmund return to action placed second in the Bundesliga, nine points behind champions Bayern Munich. 

BVB enjoyed a decent run of form before the winter break, picking up four wins, while losing just one of nine matches since a 4:1 defeat against Manchester City in the Champions League two months ago. 

On the road, goals can usually be relied upon when Dortmund are involved. All but one of their last eight away fixtures finished with both teams on the scoresheet. 

Head coach Kovač could be missing up to four players on Friday. Jobe Bellingham is suspended, Aarón Anselmino and Ramy Bensebaini are ruled out, while Waldemar Anton is listed as doubtful.
