Denmark vs North Macedonia prediction 26.03.2026 | World Cup qualifications

After two consecutive World Cups, Denmark is in danger of missing the tournament that will be played this summer in North America. Denmark surprisingly ended two points behind Scotland, and now Brian Riemer's team has to pass two hard tests to progress to the final tournament. Denmark were on a run of seven games without a defeat until the most recent outing, when Riemer's team lost 4-2 on the road against Scotland. The visitors were the favorites in that match, but the hosts' almost-perfect efficiency was enough for victory and the ticket to the World Cup.

Denmark's biggest concern in the latest matches was their defense. They conceded seven goals in the previous three games, and while North Macedonia is far from an impressive attacking team, Denmark have to do much better in defense.  

Denmark have a huge injury problem ahead of the game against North Macedonia. They will be without injured Kasper Schmeichel, Filip Jorgensen, Andreas Christensen, Rasmus Nissen Kristensen, and Patrick Dorgu, while Joachim Andersen is serving a suspension. Also, Joakim Maehle recently had surgery, so his appearance is in question, too. 

The last few years were the best in North Macedonia's football history. Although they appeared in only one major tournament (EURO 2020), North Macedonia slowly became a respectable team. In the World Cup qualifiers, they played well in a tough group with Belgium and Wales but still finished third. Luckily, North Macedonia entered the promotion playoff via the Nations League. However, the worry is that Goce Sedloski's team has not won a match in the last four matches. In the previous game, North Macedonia lost 7-1 on the road against Wales. 

North Macedonia's big problem is their attack. They scored only two goals in their last four matches, and it is hard to imagine that North Macedonia will stun Denmark on Thursday if they don't find a way to improve offensively. 

After the World Cup qualifiers, the head coach, Blagoja Milevski, left the team. At his place came Goce Sedloski, who didn't change things dramatically for the March matches. Sedloski called up only two debutants, Imran Fetai (Shkendija) and Sebastian Herrera (Borac Banja Luka).
