Copa do Nordeste is another interesting league in Brazil. Historically, the competition was more important, as the champions were granted a spot in the Copa Libertadores or Copa Sudamericana. However, now the winner receives only a place in the Copa do Brasil. Bahia have already secured the playoff position, while Confianca needs one or two more good games to secure a spot in the quarterfinal phase. 

Confianca have had a terrible season so far. They collected only seven points in eight Serie C games, so only Anapolis is worse than them. It is too early in the season, but a poor start certainly worries. Confianca were in a bad run lately with five games in a row without a victory, but in the previous match, they won 4-1 at home against Brusque. In most matches of the season, Confianca had problems with efficiency, but they brought their A-game that time.

Bahia are playing well so far this season. They are sixth on the Serie A table, and it seems that Rogerio Ceni's team will fight for the spots that bring the Copa Libertadores. Bahia had some bad games lately, but they found their good form in the previous league match when Ceni's team won 2-1 at home against Sao Paulo. That match could go either way, but Bahia showed what they are truly capable of.
