Como secured a return to Serie A by securing second place in Serie B in the 2023/24 season. In the following season, I Biancoblù did great, finishing 10th. Right now, Como are only three points away from the Champions League and with one game played fewer than fourth-placed Juventus. So, a win here would put them in a great position, at least for a short time.

For the upcoming game, central Jacobo Ramo will serve his one-game suspension after receiving his fifth yellow card in the previous game. That will be a significant factor, considering the 21-year-old Spaniard has been amazing this season. Additionally, Assane Diao, Edoardo Goldaniga, Alvaro Morata, and Jayden Addai should remain sidelined with injuries. 

Bologna came to this season after winning the Italian Cup, their first major trophy since the 1998/99 season when they won the Intertoto Cup. By winning the Cup, they secured the Europa League, where they did OK, securing the 1/16 Finals. And in Serie A, I Rossoblù had an excellent start, but after failing to win in the last six games, they dropped to 8th place with 26 points from 18 rounds. The top six and European spots are seven points away, and they desperately need a win to close the gap. 

After a 2:0 loss vs Atalanta, coach Vincenzo Italiano spoke to the media. He said they were too fragile defensively and noted the second goal made it difficult to recover. The coach said the key is to regain the level they showed earlier in the season. Italiano eventually noted that one of the main reasons for their bad period is a really challenging schedule.

For the upcoming game, the team should have no new absences, but Federico Bernardeschi, Kevin Bonifazi, and Lukasz Skorupski should remain sidelined with their injuries.
