Club Brugge stunned Ibrox last Tuesday with a dominant display in the first leg against the 2024/25 Scottish Premiership runners-up, Rangers FC. The Belgian champions were ruthless in front of goal, scoring three times from an xG of just 0.77 and effectively putting the tie to bed within the opening 20 minutes.

Ahead of the second leg, Brugge have only a couple of fitness concerns. Joel Ordóñez is ruled out with a hamstring injury, while Michal Skóraś remains a doubt.

Until their disappointing performance at Ibrox on Tuesday, Rangers FC appeared to be on course to reach the Champions League group stage for the first time since the 2022/23 season. They had already seen off Greek giants Panathinaikos with a 3–1 aggregate victory in the second qualifying round, before defeating Czech champions Viktoria Plzeň 4–2 on aggregate in the third round. A two-goal deficit is not insurmountable, especially given that Rangers have lost only two of their last nine European away fixtures.

On the squad front, Rangers welcome back Jack Butland, Thelo Aasgaard, and Mikey Moore from injury. However, they remain without key players such as Cyriel Dessers, Dujon Sterling, Bailey Rice, Ridvan Yılmaz, and Rabbi Matondo.
