Celta Vigo opened the season terribly, failing to win in nine La Liga games at the start, and everyone thought they could be one of the relegation candidates. However, since then, they improved massively. If we exclude a few setbacks like the one in late December/early January and the elimination from the Cup, the Sky Blues were excellent. At the moment, they are sitting in 6th place in La Liga with 40 points and have reached the Europa League 1/8 Finals. The coach added that their focus was on securing survival and that they mustn't get overconfident about the recent good results. 

Real Madrid are in a pretty delicate moment, having lost back-to-back La Liga games and dropped from first place. That is their first b2b La Liga loss since May 2019! We must acknowledge they are in a good position to win trophies as they are only two points away from Barcelona and have reached the 1/8 Finals in the Champions League. However, Los Blancos are not as dominant as we are used to, and they have shown that numerous times this year. 

Many football fans attribute their poor season (by their standards) to bad decisions in the offseason, but to a clash between Vicinius and former coach Xabi Alonso. However, a big part of the problem is injuries as well. For the upcoming game, they should miss several key players - Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Raul Asencio, Eder Militao, and Dani Ceballos. On top of that, they will also miss Dean Huijsen, Alvaro Carreras, and Franco Mastantuono due to one-game suspensions.
