The Little Falcons are running out of time to chase anything beyond a playoff spot. Sitting 20 points off the top with five games left, that door has basically closed.

Still, form matters heading into the playoffs, and Federico Coppitelli’s side seem to understand that. Four games unbeaten, three wins, three clean sheets. Not spectacular, but steady. At home, the Little Falcons have been even more convincing, winning four of the last five without tasting defeat.

There is a small complication, though. Ivan Kontek misses out after that late red card against Atalanta U23, which could force a reshuffle at the back. Loris Bacchetti is the likely replacement, though he hasn’t had much rhythm lately.

Injuries to Gabriele Rocchi and Michele Vano limit attacking options a bit. Even so, the structure looks solid, and Coppitelli’s side tend to control games better on their own pitch.

The Red-Blacks are in that uncomfortable space where every point suddenly feels heavy. Just two points above the bottom five, and the form line does not offer much comfort.

Cristian Serpini’s side did show some character last weekend, coming back to draw 2-2 with Crotone. It ended a four-game losing run, which might matter more mentally than tactically.

Going forward, there are signs of life. Eight goals in the last six matches is not terrible for a team down there. Eugenio D’Ursi, with 13 goals this season, remains the main threat and often carries the attacking burden.

However, away form is a real issue. Seven straight away defeats is not just a bad run, it starts to feel like a pattern. You can argue some of those games were against stronger sides, fair enough, but confidence on the road looks fragile. That could be the difference here.
