In recent seasons, Brighton have established themselves as a solid mid-table side. There are still 17 rounds left in the current campaign, and while the Seagulls still have chances to return to European football, another comfortable mid-table finish appears the more realistic outcome. Brighton played well recently, with four games in a row without defeat. In the most recent outing, Brighton won 2-1 on the road in the FA Cup against Manchester United. The teams were pretty even, but the guests' much better efficiency was enough to make the difference and send Brighton through to the next round. 

Brighton's head coach, Fabian Hurzeler, used the opportunity to rest part of the regular starters. We should expect Kaoru Mitoma, Bert Verbruggen, and other important players to return to the starting eleven on Monday night. 

Brighton have some problems with missing players. They will be without Stefanos Tzimas, Adam Webster, Solomon March, and Mats Wieffer. The good news is that Yankuba Minteh seems recovered from a thigh injury, while Carlos Baleba returned from the African Cup of Nations and could be in contention for Monday's game. 

Bournemouth have somewhat similar story to Brighton, as they are another solid mid-table team in the previous few seasons. While they may have expected slightly more from the current campaign, they are still comfortably clear of the relegation zone. Nevertheless, their recent form has been concerning, as they have managed just one win in their last 13 matches across all competitions. In the previous game, the Cherries lost after penalties away from home in the FA Cup against Newcastle. In one of the most exciting games of the season, both teams had their chances, but the hosts were ultimately fortunate to send Bournemouth packing. 

Bournemouth are very active in the current transfer window. According to reports, they are close to signing Ferencvaros Alex Toth and Vasco's Rayan. On the other hand, defender Marcos Senesi could leave the Cherries for Chelsea. 

Justin Kluivert, Ben Gannon-Doak, Tyler Adams, Enes Unal, William Dennis, and Matai Akinmboni are unavailable for the trip to Brighton. Also, David Brooks and Ryan Christie are questionable, and their status will be clearer closer to the kickoff.
