Brann W vs Manchester United W prediction 11.09.2025 | Champions League Women qualification

Since IL Sandviken merged with Brann and became the women's football section of the most popular football team in Bergen, the team became one of the best in the country. In three seasons, Brann won one national league title, while last season they finished second. In 2025, Brann are at the top of the table with four points more than their closest rival, Valerenga. 

Brann are in impressive form. They won the last ten matches in a row in all competitions, including two games against Inter and Braga in the previous rounds of the Champions League qualifications. Last weekend, Brann won 3-0 at home against Roa. The home team ended the game with 78% ball possession and 28 shots on the goal, so it is no wonder they picked up another victory. However, the ultimate test will be in games against Manchester United. Brann never played in the Champions League and will have to pass another hurdle to find themself in the most elite continental Championship. 

Brann's head coach, Leif Gunnar Smerud, decided to rest the main stars in the game against Roa, and they still dominated. After the match, he said that Manchester United might be wondering after watching their last game. 

Manchester United were formed seven years ago, and although they started from the Championship, every other season was top-half in England's strongest women's league. Last year, they ended third in the table. In the 2025/26 season, Manchester United have had only three matches so far. They opened the year with wins against PSV and Hammarby in the Champions League qualifications. Last weekend, in the  Women's Super League first round, Manchester United won 4-0 at home against Leicester. The home side dominated throughout the game, so there was no doubt about the winner. 

It is the start of the season, but Manchester United already have problems with injuries. After the previous game against Leicester, the head coach, Marc Skinner, addressed that problem and said they would have to do a much better job in the winter transfer window. In the game against Leicester, Manchester United had only five substitutes on the bench, and it will not be any better on Thursday in Bergen.
