Bohemians's results have declined over the last few years. Last year was their worst over the previous eight seasons as they finished 8th - pretty close to the danger zone. This year, after an atrocious start where they lost five of the last seven games, they looked like a relegation contender. However, after that poor start, they started playing better and are now in 3rd place with 38 points, just two points away from the second place. They are also 11 points away from the top spot, but with two games played less.
Galway secured promotion to the Premier Division in 2023 and had a pretty good last season, finishing fifth. This year, their performance has been up and down, and they are now in 7th place with 29 points - a comfortable nine points away from the relegation playout. The main issue why they aren't higher on the league's table is their absolutely poor road record in recent matches. Now, they will have another challenging road game against Bohemians.
Bohemians vs Galway pick: Under 2.5 goals
Bohemians are in good form, but their defense has been especially impressive. In the last nine games, they kept a clean sheet on six occasions - 67%. We believe they can do that again against Galway, which had problems away from home. Mostly due to a good defense, Bohemians went under 2.5 goals in eight out of the nine matches - 89%.
Galway are in bad form, particularly away from home, where they failed to win in the past seven matches. They struggled to score and have done so only four times in that seven-game stretch- 0.57 goals per game. So, even scoring a goal away from home could be a challenge.
In the previous h2h games, we consistently saw low-scoring matches. They went under 2.5 goals in eight of the last nine h2h (official) games. Considering the trend in the previous h2h games and all the above, an under 2.5 goals bet seems like the best option for this Premier Division tie.

Bohemians team news
Central defender Robert Cornwall received a yellow card in the previous game against St. Patrick's and will serve his one-game suspension. With him out, Leigh Kavanagh should get the opportunity to start.
Midfielder Adam McDonnell suffered an injury in the previous game and had to leave the field 20 minutes before the end of the match. According to credible sources, he will miss the upcoming game as well. Besides him, Alex Lacey and Archie Meekison, who missed the previous games, should remain sidelined.

Galway team news
Striker Moses Dyer will serve the third of his three-game suspension and will be unavailable. The 28-year-old Dyer is the team's top goalscorer with nine goals in 20 appearances, and his absence will be a massive factor.
Regarding injuries, the only player who should miss the game is Jimmy Keohane, who missed the previous two and a half months with the injury.
