Birmingham suffered relegation from the Championship in 2023/24 and instantly returned the following season. Even before the relegation, the Blues struggled and constantly floated around the danger zone. However, this year, they are doing a much better job. At one point, it looked like they could make the playoffs, but the last month and a half were pretty bad. Still, the Blues are in 11th place with 53 points - ten points away from the playoffs and will try to make a push to reach it. 

After a 1:0 loss to Derby, coach Chris Davies spoke to the media. He was unhappy with the result, saying they delivered a very disappointing performance. The coach added they "deserved nothing from the game", noting there weren't any positives from the match.

Three players who missed the previous games with injuries should remain sidelined - Kai Wagner, Alexander Cochrane, and Lee Buchanan.

Blackburn are playing eight consecutive seasons in the Championship and are once again set to miss the playoffs. In some of the seasons, they were close to reaching it, but this one, they couldn't be further away from it. With seven rounds left, the Rovers are sitting in 19th place with 43 points - only four points away from the danger zone. So, an overall terrible season from them, and at this point, they are only looking to survive. However, the bookies aren't too convinced of their chances and are offering odds of around 2.5-2.6 on them being relegated.  

After a goalless draw with Middlesbrough in the previous game, coach Michael O'Neill spoke to the media. He was very proud of the effort of his players in securing a point against a strong team. He said they could have been better with the ball, but called the players' effort magnificent and focused mostly on that. 

The team should have no new injuries, but the players who missed the previous games should remain sidelined - Sondre Tronstad, Lewis Miller, Augustus Kargbo, Ryan Hedges, Andri Gudjohnsen, and Jake Garrett.
