Betis vs Feyenoord prediction 29.01.2026 | Europa League

Betis have another solid season. In La Liga, they are in their usual positions behind the top four teams in the competition, while in the Europa League, Los Verdiblancos could skip the 1/16 final phase if they win on Thursday night. Betis' form was shaky lately, as Manuel Pellegrini's team won only two of the last six matches across all competitions. Last weekend, Betis lost 2-1 on the road against Alaves. Although the guests created more than enough goal-scoring opportunities, they were always one step behind the hosts. Now, after a few unconvincing performances, Betis will host Feyenoord and try to return to the right track. 

After the defeat against Alaves, Betis' head coach, Manuel Pellegrini, said that the opponent was the better, but he also commented on how little his team had after the previous match. The tough schedule continues for Betis, so Pellegrini might decide to rest a few players in the upcoming Europa League clash. 

Betis have big problems with missing players. Sofyan Amrabat, Hector Bellerin, Cucho Hernandez, Junior Firpo, Isco, Giovani Lo Celso, Rodrigo Riquelme, and Aitor Ruibal are injured and will not play on Thursday against Feyenoord. 

Feyenoord probably expected more in the current campaign. In Eredivisie, they are second on the table, but with an enormous 14 points fewer than the league leader, PSV. In the Europa League, Feyenoord didn't meet expectations either, as they still need a victory on Thursday to continue in the knockout phase. Feyenoord had a few terrible weeks in which they had six games in a row without victory. They broke the negative streak with two wins last week. In the most recent outing, Feyenoord won 4-2 at home against Heracles. 

Feyenoord won last weekend, but in the same match, Anel Ahmedhodzic, Tsuyoshi Watanabe, and Luciano Valente suffered injuries that forced them to come out in the second half. It is still unknown whether they will be able to play on Thursday or join the already unavailable Malcolm Jeng, Gernot Trauner, Givairo Read, Shiloh Zand, and Thomas Beelen. Gaoussou Diarra, Jakub Moder, and Gijs Smal are injured, too, but they could recover in time for the clash at Estadio de La Cartuja.
