Bastia vs Troyes prediction 16.02.2026 | Ligue 2

Once a regular in the French top flight, Bastia are far from their best days, struggling even in Ligue 2. They are at the bottom of the standings with six points fewer than safety. However, Bastia's recent run and only two defeats in the last eight matches across all competitions give the team from Corsica a lot of encouragement that survival is possible. In the previous game, Bastia played 0-0 on the road against Reims. The visitors were under heavy pressure for most of the game, but their excellent defense was enough to secure another valuable point.

Bastia's head coach, Reginald Rey, praised his team's defense in the match against Reims. He said, "Defensively, yes, we had a system in place to counter Reims' attacking strength. On that front, I'm very satisfied. Defending together and not conceding a goal. I regret that we didn't use the ball better in both halves. Towards the end, we could have pulled off a perfect result. Bastia have problems with missing players. They will be without David Djedje, Yahya Bathily, Dominique Guidi, Nicolas Parravicini, and Noah Zilliox.

After two seasons in Ligue 2, Troyes have an excellent opportunity to return to the best competition in France. They are at the top of the standings, but Reims and Red Star are only one point behind, so any longer stretch of bad form could prove costly. Troyes are currently on a run of four defeats in a row. In the most recent outing, they lost 2-1 on the road against Nancy. The teams were fairly even throughout the game, but the hosts' much better efficiency was enough for all three points.

After a defeat in Nancy, Troyes' head coach Stephane Dumont spoke about his team's problems. He said, "We're lacking a bit of commitment, and we're becoming vulnerable to any team that plays with energy. That makes three consecutive defeats for us in the league, plus the elimination from the Coupe de France. It's a difficult period, there's no denying it, especially when you're used to winning."

Ismael Boura, Paolo Gozzi, Merwan Ifnaoui, Nicolas Lemaitre, Lucas Maronnier, Alexandre Philiponeau, and Ibrahim Traore are injured and will not play on Monday night in Bastia.
