Auxerre vs Strasbourg prediction 07.03.2026 | Ligue 1

Auxerre came to the season after a pretty good one last year, when they finished 11th. However, this year, it was obvious from the start that they are not at last year's level. After 24 rounds, they sit in the relegation playout spot (16th) with only 18 points. Their only goal is to avoid relegation, but looking at their remaining schedule, we cannot say we are too optimistic. Right now, the odds on their relegation are between 1.6 and 1.75.

After a 2:2 draw with Lorient, coach Christophe Pélissier spoke to the media. He was pleased with the team's attacking intent and character. However, the coach was frustrated with some defensive lapses, saying they showed a good mindset and approach but need to improve discipline. 

Strasbourg are playing an excellent season thus far, across competitions. The Blue and Whites are sitting in 8th place and are only five points away from 5th and 6th place and the European Qualifiers next season. Besides their good Ligue 1 campaign, the Blue and Whites reached the Coupe de France semi-finals and were the best team in the Conference League (league phase). There, they will face Rijeka in the 1/8 Finals after the Auxerre game. So, an overall good season, but there is still a question about how well they can handle playing on multiple fronts. They were great so far, and we believe they have a deep enough squad to continue with good performances across competitions. 

After a 2:1 win over Reims in the Cup, coach Gary O'Neil spoke to the media. He said it was a difficult game and that his team had to remain patient. "We missed a few chances in the first half, but it's a good victory," the coach added.
