Auxerre vs Lyon prediction 23.11.2025 | Ligue 1

Auxerre face their first Ligue 1 fixture since the international break winless in seven league games played since the end of September. Christophe Pélissier's side slipped to a dismal 2:0 defeat at Angers in their most recent fixture a fortnight ago. 

Since a 1:0 win against Lorient on the opening day of the season, Auxerre have picked up just four points from 11 Ligue 1 matches. The hosts have now lost six of their seven most recent league games, picking up just one point in those fixtures.

A lack of firepower has been a big issue for the home side. Auxerre scored just four goals in six home Ligue 1 games this season, while they have lost each of their last three games at Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps.

Head coach Pélissier has four injury concerns this weekend. Lasso Coulibaly and Telli Siwe are both ruled out, while Francisco Sierralta and Oussama El Azzouzi face late fitness tests.

Lyon make the trip to Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps having failed to win any of their last four competitive matches. Les Gones slipped to a painful 3:2 home reversal against Ligue 1 champions PSG before the international break with João Neves stoppage-time goal breaking Lyon hearts at Groupama Stadium.

A lack of discipline has proved costly for Paulo Fonseca's side, with the visitors seeing red in each of their last three winless Ligue 1 games. 

Despite their lack of winning form, Lyon will feel confident of picking up the points on Sunday. Les Gones claimed wins in four of their last six games against Auxertre.

Head coach Fonseca is unable to call on several first-team players this weekend. Orel Mangala, Malick Fofana and Ernest Nuamah are all ruled out with injury issues while Tyler Morton and Nicolás Tagliafico are both suspended.

Hans Hateboer and top scorer Pavel Šulc will be assessed closer to kick-off.
