A huge clash awaits us on Sunday when Arsenal welcome Tottenham to the Emirates for the 10th Premier League London Derby of the 2025-26 campaign. Mikel Arteta’s group sit four points clear at the top, which feels comfortable until you remember how quickly these matches can tilt. Spurs trail by eight yet still hover in that awkward zone where one good week pulls them back into the title discussion. The Gunners go in as favourites, and with reason. Our preview walks through the recent meetings, the team news and where the betting angles may actually offer some value.

Premier League
Across nine Premier League encounters since 2021, the Gunners have mostly dictated the rivalry. Seven wins from that period tell their own story, especially with the only Spurs success coming at their own ground in 2022. One draw came in between all that, and the scoring rate has been surprisingly high, averaging just over three goals per match.
Arsenal team overview
Arsenal have built their season on a kind of quiet efficiency. Twenty-six points from eleven matches is impressive, even if their single loss at Anfield exposed how vulnerable they can still look when forced to defend deep for long spells.
The Gunners played Sunderland just before the international break, chasing an eleventh straight win in all competitions. Falling behind so early rattled them a bit, but they found two second-half goals before switching off in injury time and paying the price.
Supporters will expect a sharper response now, especially with a derby on home soil and three straight league wins against Spurs in the bank. Absences are starting to pile up though.
Ödegaard and Havertz remain sidelined, and the list grows with Madueke, Gabriel and Gabriel Jesus all unavailable.

Tottenham Hotspur team overview
Thomas Frank has been in the job for five months, and you can already see fingerprints of his structure in this Spurs side. The defence, once creaking under pressure, has conceded only 10 goals in eleven matches, which is a noticeable improvement from last season’s 20 at this stage.
The Lilywhites also sit two places higher than at this point a year ago, and the win over City, however unexpected, still gives this squad the sense that they can unsettle bigger sides. Form has dipped recently though.
Just one victory in four across all competitions raises concerns, and the defeats to Newcastle and Chelsea remind you that the project still has soft edges.
The injury list does not help. Pape Sarr picked up a knock with Senegal, joining Maddison and Kulusevski, both still recovering from longer-term issues.

Prediction
Arsenal enter the derby in runway form, with seven wins from their last nine Premier League encounters, and four victories from their past five head-to-heads at home to Spurs. Arteta’s team have also shut out the opposition in all but one of their league games at the Emirates this term. Spurs will generally score in this game but their form of one win from four suggests the Gunners can edge a high-scoring game. I’m plumping for a 2-1 home win.
Three reasons we expect over 2.5 goals in this game
- All the last four away league games of Tottenham ended with over 2.5 goals.
- Bets on over 2.5 goals won in each of the last two games of Arsenal.
- Six of the last eight competitive meetings between Arsenal and Spurs ended with over 2.5 goals.
