After three similar seasons in which they started strong but finished second, the Gunners are again at the top after (almost) the first half of the season. However, the second-placed Manchester City are just two points away. But unlike last season, the bookies trust the Gunners, with odds around 1.7 on them winning the title, while the odds on the Citizens are around 2.8. A big reason for that trust is Arsenal's performance in the Champions League, where they won all six games in the league (group) phase, finishing the phase as the only team with a 100% win rate.

For the Cup game against Crystal Palace, coach Mikel Arteta rested some of his key players. After the match, the coach spoke to the media. He praised his players, saying they kept their calm during the penalty shootout and praised Kepa Arrizabalaga's decisive save. However, the coach said they deserved to win by a bigger margin before the penalties and avoid the shootout. 

For the upcoming game, the team should have no new injuries, but the players who missed the previous games should remain sidelined - Cristhian Mosquera, Ben White, Gabriel, and Kai Havertz.

Brighton are playing their ninth consecutive season in the Premier League, where they have become a stable mid-table team. This season, the popular Seagulls did well for the most part, but after winning just two points in the last four games, they dropped to 9th place. However, they are only five points away from the Champions League spots and are probably satisfied with their season thus far. 

For the Arsenal game, the team will be without Carlos Baleba, who is on the ongoing AFCON with Cameroon. Stefanos Tzimas, Adam Webster, and Solomon March will remain sidelined with injuries, while Jan Paul van Hecke, Mats Wieffer, and Danny Welbeck should recover from their injuries/illnesses. 

Moreover, Lewis Dunk and Diego Gomez Amarilla served their one-game suspensions and should be back in the starting lineup.
