Almeria vs Cadiz prediction 16.11.2025 | La Liga 2

Last season, Almeria played in the promotion playoffs, but lost in the semifinal. Now, they are determined to play a major role in the second level of Spanish football and return to La Liga. Almeira are currently three points behind league leader Racing Santander, but have played one game fewer. Almeria are in a sensational run of eight games without defeat. Last weekend, Rubi's team played in Ceuta, but the tie was abandoned at halftime as one fan died after a cardiac arrest, and the referee decided to permanently suspend the match. Before suspension, it was 1-1. The Spanish football association will reschedule the match for the coming months. 

Dion Lopy received another yellow card in Ceuta and will not play on Sunday against Cadiz. Also, Chumi will not play due to an ankle injury. 

After finishing in mid-table last season, Cadiz seems much more competitive in the current campaign. They are sixth on the table, only one point behind Almeria, but could easily fall out of the promotion playoff zone if they lose on Sunday afternoon. Cadiz are in a poor run lately, winning only one of the last five matches across all competitions. In the previous game, they played 0-0 at home against Valladolid. That was probably the fairest outcome as the teams were pretty even throughout the match.

Cadiz's head coach, Gaizka Garitano, summed up the game at the press conference. He said, "Today the feeling was better. We played well, we created chances. I think the first half was very good. They play too; they're a very physical team, one of the best in the league. We struggle to score goals, and that's something we need to improve on."

Cadiz have some problems with missing players, too. Isaac Carcelen and Fali are injured and will not play on Sunday in Almeria, while Iuri Tabatadze is questionable and his status will be clearer closer to the kickoff.
