However, Al Shahaniya have played significantly better over the last month, with two wins and one draw in their previous three games across all competitions. In the most recent outing, Al Shahaniya won 3-0 at home against Al Gharafa. The hosts surprisingly dominated against the league leader and secured a valuable three points. A victory like that will give Al Shahaniya a lot of optimism ahead of Thursday.

Al Duhail are not playing well this season. However, there are no reports that Djamel Belmadi's job is in danger. It seems that the head coach who won four titles with Al Duhail will get his time to return the club to the right track. 

Al Duhail have serious problems with missing players. Almoez Ali, Tuta, and Salah Zakaria are out due to injuries. Also, Adel Boulbin is with the Algerian national team at the African Cup of Nations.
