Two sides struggling to find their top form meetup at the Alexandria Stadium on Wednesday as AL-Ittihad hosts Modern Sport. 

Al-Ittihad return to home comforts after failing to win any of their last four matches following a 0:0 draw against Ghazl El Mehalla last Friday.

Having begun their Premier League campaign brightly with back-to-back victories against Pharco and Ghazl El Mehalla, the hosts have since failed to win any of their next three league matches.

A lack of firepower remains an issue for a side that have struggled to claim Premier League victories in 2024. Al-Ittihad scored just three goals in five games played this season, while they netted only seven across 18 PL matches since May. As a consequence, the home side have won just three games during that period. 

Modern Sport FC come into Wednesday's Premier League encounter having endured a similarly difficult run of results. Franck Dumas´s side have lost each of their last three games (all competitions) while they have failed to win any of their first five PL matches of the new campaign. 

Like Al-Ittihad, a lack of goals has been the biggest problem for Modern Sport. Dumas´s men scored just twice in their last five games, while they have won only two of ten previous PL matches since July.

With both teams short in form and firepower, a low-scoring encounter seems inevitable on Wednesday.
