- Competition: Coppa Italia Final
- Date: Wednesday, 14th May, 2025
- Kickoff: 20:00 UK / 21:00 CEST
- Venue: Stadio Olimpico (Rome)
Following a 3:1 win for AC Milan against Bologna in the Serie A, these teams will meet again in the Coppa Italia Finals at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
AC Milan are playing one of their worst season in a very long time. Rossoneri looked not even remotely close to what we are used to from them. Right now, they are sitting in 8th place, three points away from the spots from fourth to sixth. Unfortunately, Rossoneri played one game more than those teams, and securing Europe will be a challenging task. Pretty much only good performances from AC Milan were in the Cup competitions, as they secured the Super Cup and are now in a position to win the Coppa Italia. That potential title would somewhat save this disastrous season.
Bologna had an excellent last year, finishing fifth. However, most of the football pundits credited their success to coach Thiago Motta. And indeed, they had a bad start to the season, but managed to recover. Unfortunately for them, they won two points in the last three games and are now in 7th place with a two-point advantage over AC Milan. Also, they are just one point away from 4th-placed Juventus and the Champions League spots, but with one more game played.
AC Milan vs Bologna pick: AC Milan to (AH 0) win
AC Milan are in good form, winning four in a row, while scoring ten goals - 2.5 per game. One of those four wins was against Bologna (in the last match), and also one of those was super impressive against Inter, 3:0 in the previous round of the Cup. They've been particularly strong in the Cup, already knocking out both Inter and AS Roma - teams currently ahead of them and Bologna in the league standings.
Bologna, on the other hand, are on a bad mini-stretch, winning two points in the last three games against Udinese, Juventus, and AC Milan. They are definitely entering the Cup Finals with bad momentum.
As we mentioned, these teams met only days ago in Serie A, with Rossoneri winning 3:1. If we look further back, we can see that Bologna won only once in the last 19 games - a mere 5%.
Considering the trend in the previous matches and the difference in form, we believe that AC Milan is closer to winning the upcoming Coppa Italia Finals.

AC Milan team news
In the previous game against Bologna, Fikayo Tomori suffered an early injury and had to leave the field after only 14 minutes. He has been really good lately, and his absence could be a factor. However, Malick Thiaw should be an excellent backup option.
Warren Bondo, Emerson Royal, Youssouf Fofana, and Riccardo Sottil, who missed the previous games with injuries, should remain sidelined.

Bologna team news
In the previous game against AC Milan, central defender Martin Erlic suffered an injury and had to leave the field after 31 minutes. However, he hasn't been a significant factor for them this season, and his absence shouldn't be a problem. With him out, we should see Sam Beukema and Jhon Lucumí start at the back.
Besides Erlic, the players who missed the previous matches should remain sidelined - Emil Holm, Dan Ndoye, and Estanis Pedrola. Meanwhile, Jens Odgaard, who missed the previous game, should be ready. According to credible sources, he was only given a rest.
