Aalesund vs Fredrikstad prediction 07.04.2026 | Eliteserien

After two seasons in OBOS-ligaen, Aalesund returned to the Norwegian top flight, and their primary goal is to avoid relegation. However, they are one of the teams with the smallest budgets in the competitions and every point could prove crucial. Although Aalesund collected only one point in two Eliteserien rounds, they also have two cup victories and should approach the upcoming clash with optimism. In the previous game, Kjetil Rekdal's team played 1-1 on the road against Start. 

For Aalesund, defense seems to be the biggest issue this season. In two league games, they allowed an average xG of 1.86. Their attack is not that good, either, but without improving defense, it will be very hard to keep up with other relegation candidates. 

Paul Ngongo is injured and will not play on Tuesday evening. Also questionable are Mathias Kristensen, Janus Seehusen, and Ulrik Syversen, and their statuses will be clearer closer to the kickoff. 

After two mid-table seasons, Fredrikstad seems slightly weaker, and it will not be surprising if they find themself in the relegation dogfight this year. Fredrikstad opened the season with three points from the first two Eliteserien rounds. In the previous game, Andreas Hagen's team won 3-1 at home against KFUM Oslo. The teams were pretty even in that match, and Fredrikstad should feel fortunate for securing all three points. 

Like Aalesund, Fredrikstad's defense should be much better. They are the second-worst in Eliteserien in terms of allowed xG, with 1.81 in the first two matches. With a defense like that, opponents in every game will have too many chances to punish Fredrikstad. 

Fredrikstad will be without Sigurd Kvile in Aalesund, while Salomon Owusu, Joachim Nysveen, and Benjamin Faraas are questionable.
