Spain vs France Betting Tips - BTTS/Spain to Qualify

A potentially thrilling Nations League semi-final can be expected in Stuttgart this week with European champions Spain looking to maintain their superb unbeaten run against a talent-loaded French side.

Unbeaten in 18 matches since a 1:0 friendly loss against Colombia 15 months ago, La Roja have been in brilliant form over the past year. After clsaiming Euro 2024 glory last summer, Luis de la Fuente's men then secured their place in Thursday's Nations Leagues semi-final with a dramatic win against Netherlands in March. Having shared six goals at the Estadio de Mestalla, Spain eventually emerged triumphant after a 5:4 win via penalty shootout.

While the reigning European champions have been untouchable over the past year, clean sheets have been rare. De la Fuente's defensively vulnerable side conceded at least one goal in their last four games, while they shipped two goals or more in three of those fixtures. Now facing a French side packed with attacking talent, it would be a surprise to see the Spanish return to defensive stability on Thursday.

France arrives in Germany having secured their place in the semi-finals, also via penalty shootout. After a 2:0 first-leg quarter-final defeat against Croatia in Zagreb, Didier Deschamps side turned the tie around with a 2:0 win in Paris, before emerging with a 5:4 victory via spotkicks.

A decent run of form has seen Les Bleues win five and lose just one of their last seven matches, but they will need to be at their absolute best to overcome a Spanish side that has not tasted defeat in more than a year.

Recent meetings between these top-tier nations have favoured the Spanish. La Roja claimed six wins from nine previous meetings over the past 16 years, including a 2:1 success at last summer's European Championship. A similar outcome has every chance this week with BTTS expected to land in Stuttgart.

I'm backing BTTS at the MHP Arena, with the expectation that Spain should eventually seal their place in this weekend's final.
