Slovan Bratislava hoped for another appearance in the Champions League, but they weren't at an adequate level this summer. Slovan Bratislava had some problems in the Slovakian league, too, but they still secured seven points in the first three matches. Last weekend, Slovan Bratislava won 1-0 at home against Skalica. The head coach, Vladimir Weiss Sr., decided to rest the most important players in that game, but they should return on Thursday against Young Boys. 

Slovan Bratislava's head coach, Vladimir Weiss Sr., got the red card in the first leg of the matchup against Kairat, so he didn't lead the team last Thursday in Bratislava. He will return to his usual duty at the upcoming time. His son, Vladimir Weiss Jr, got a red card after the previous match, so he will skip Thursday's game. 

Young Boys were part of the Champions League in the last two seasons, but this year, they will have to satisfy themself with the Europa or the Conference Leagues. Young Boys are not playing well this season. In the national league, they won only one of four games. Last weekend, Giorgio Contini's team won 4-1 on the road in the cup against Courtetelle. Scoring four goals is nice, but Young Boys will have to show improvement against a stronger team. 

Young Boys have almost a full squad available. They will be without Altin Shala and Timothy Fayulu on Thursday in Bratislava.
