Inter secured their place in the FIFA Club World Cup thanks to several strong Champions League campaigns. Over the past four seasons, they reached the final twice - in 2022/23 and in 2024/25. In the match against Monterrey, they were really disappointing in our opinion, especially in the second half. Against Urawa Reds, they were trailing almost the entire match but managed to score two late goals and secure all three points. A significant reason for their underperformance is that they are missing several important players due to injuries or rest.

If we look only at the ordinary time, River Plate are undefeated in the last 20 games in all competitions! Additionally, in the first two games in this tournament, River Plate accumulated the same number of points as Inter but appeared significantly stronger in those matches and undoubtedly deserved all six points. Additionally, Los Millonarios only need one point from this match to advance to the next stage of the competition because they have a better goal difference than Inter.
