Another hugely competitive and likely high-scoring encounter should be on the cards in Slovakia on Wednesday as European heavyweights Germany and France face-off in Kosice. 

Germany have been in superb form throughout the tournament. They opened their campaign by blowing Slovenia U21 away in Nitra, with Nick Woltemade’s hat-trick inspiring a comfortable 3:0 success. Back-to-back wins over Czech Republic U21 (4:2) and England U21 (2:1) ensured serene progress to the quarter final stages for Antonio Di Salvo's men. 

The Germans then secured their place in the semi-finals with a dramatic 3:2 semi-final victory against Italy U21 earlier this week following a gruelling 120 minute contest. Another inspired display from Nick Woltemade (one goal, one assist) ensured a place in the final four for Di Salvo's side.

France U21 make the trip to Kosice after booking their place in the last four with a similarly thrilling quarter-final win against Denmark. Trailing with just minutes left on the clock, two goals scored, including an 85th minute winner from Mathys Tel secured a stunning 3:2 comeback win for Les Bleues. 

Still unbeaten in the competition, a solid group phase saw the French collect seven points, including impressive wins against Georgia (3:2) and Poland (4:1) as well as a goalless draw against Portugal. 

Considering the high-scoring natures of both teams results at this competition, and the attacking quality in both squads, we should expect another thrilling contest in Kosice.
