FCSB
Europa League
Last Thursday's first leg in Aberdeen was the first ever meeting between the two sides. FCSB has now played Scottish teams ten times and won only four of those matches. Meanwhile, Aberdeen has only faced Romanian sides three times, remaining unbeaten in all three encounters – one win and two draws.
FC FCSB team overview
FCSB have had a disappointing spell over the last two weeks, losing all three games and conceding three goals in each. One of those games was the first leg of their Europa League play-off tie with Aberdeen.
Although they were playing away and lost Juri in the 36th minute, Elias Charalambous’s men scored twice and secured a draw. FCSB fans went home disappointed as their side was two goals up at the hour mark.
The Red and Blues will be looking to make amends this week, boosted by the fact that they have won two of their last three home European games.
Joyskim Dawa (knee injury) and Ionuț Cercel (muscle injury) will miss Thursday’s game against Aberdeen due to injury, while Juri Cisotti is suspended.

Aberdeen team overview
Aberdeen are preparing for Thursday’s game amid a mixed run of form, having won only one of their last eight competitive matches. The Scottish side suffered six defeats and failed to score in four of those matches.
However, head coach Jimmy Thelin will be pleased that his team scored twice in each of their last two matches and one of those fixtures was the first leg of Thursday’s fixture. Recovering from a two-goal deficit to score twice will have boosted their confidence.

Prediction
Given their current form and home advantage, I think Aberdeen could win this tie within the first 45 minutes. The Romanian side have however struggled defensively in their recent European games, failing to keep a clean sheet in any of their last nine encounters and all those encounters produced at least three goals. As such, I think a 3–1 scoreline in Aberdeen's favour is likely.
Three reasons we expect at least three goals in this game
- Seven of the last nine games of FCSB ended with over 2.5 goals.
- Aberdeen conceded at least two goals in four of their last five matches.
- All the last six Europa League games of FCSB ended with over 2.5 goals.
Main prediction FCSB - Aberdeen
Over 2.5 goals
