Blackburn spent a solid chunk of the season in the promotion playoff zone. However, after only one point from the last six Championship rounds, the team from Ewood Park has fallen five points behind the desired sixth position. With seven rounds left, there is still time to catch the playoffs, but they have to start a new winning streak as soon as possible. Last weekend, Blackburn lost 1-0 on the road against Portsmouth. Middlesbrough are another team hoping to find themself in the promotion playoff. They are in a much better position than Blackburn, as Middlesbrough are only one position behind. The home side finished the match with 74% ball possession and 24 shots on goal, so they probably deserved to secure three points much earlier.
