Cardiff make the trip to south London for a midweek League One clash against AFC Wimbledon at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

Wimbledon comes into this game with confidence raised following back-to-back League One wins, but Cardiff – one of the strongest squads in the division – are also unbeaten since the opening day and carry serious promotion ambitions under Brian Barry-Murphy.

This is the first meeting between the clubs in over a decade, and with both sides showing attacking intent in recent weeks, another open contest looks likely on Tuesday night.

AFC Wimbledon team overview

AFC Wimbledon come into Tuesday’s contest in good spirits after a 2:1 away win at Reading last weekend.

Johnnie Jackson’s side have found momentum in recent weeks, picking up six points from their last two League One outings, while also claiming a penalñty shootout victory against Gillingham in their EFL Cup clash.

While in good early-season form, a lack of clean sheets remains an issue for the Dons. Wimbledon conceded at least one goal in seven of their last eight fixtures.

Head coach Jackson is set to keep faith with the same side that started Saturday's win against Reading. Sam Hutchinson is the only confirmed absentee for the visitors.

Cardiff team overview

Cardiff maintained their strong start to life in League One with a comfortable 3:0 win against Rotherham last weekend. Rubin Colwill's goal put the seal on an impressive performance from Brian Barry-Murphy's men.

Still unbeaten since their drop down to England's third tier, Cardiff picked up victories in three of their last four games, while they remain unbeaten in nine games played (including friendlies) this season.

Like the home side, goals at both ends have been relatively frequent for the Bluebirds. Seven of their last ten games finished with both teams on the scoresheet.

Head coach Barry-Murphy has a fully fit squad available for selection. The visitors are expected to name the same XI that eased past Rotherham.
