Manchester City returns to competitive action just over a month on from their FIFA Club World campaign ended in a disappointing round of sixteen against Al Hilal. The Citizens have played just one friendly in the past month, scoring a 3:0 win against Italian opponents Palermo.
Despite their early exit in the US, City showed plenty of reasons for their fans to be optimistic, with some impressive performances, including a 5:2 thrashing of Juventus.
