Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich prediction 16.08.2025.

Last season was disappointing for Stuttgart. They hoped for another place in the Champions League, but eventually, the club from MHPArena ended as only a mid-table team. One of the rare positives from the previous year is the DFB Pokal title, their first trophy since the Bundesliga title in 2007. 

Stuttgart welcomes the 2025/26 season with ambitions to return among the top Bundesliga teams. Their preseason was promising with three wins in four matches. However, in the last test, Stuttgart lost 1-0 against Bologna. 

Stuttgart have had a relatively quiet summer in the transfer market. The club left Enzo Millot, attacking midfielder, who last season had 12 goals and eight assists in all competitions. On the other hand, the most important signing is right-back Lorenz Assignon from Rennes. Another addition is 18-year-old Lazar Jovanović, a promising talent viewed more as an investment for the future than an immediate impact player.

The good news for Stuttgart ahead of the Super Cup is that Angelo Stiller has a good chance of making the starting eleven after he has fully recovered from a partial ligament tear. On the other hand, Alexander Nubel remains in doubt due to elbow problems. 

Bayern probably expected more in the previous season, but they can be satisfied with winning the Bundesliga title convincingly. Vincent Kompany's team had a long summer as they played at the Club World Cup, where Bayern Munich lost in the quarterfinal against PSG. After the short rest, the Bavarians won all three preseason games. In the last match, they won 2-1 against Grasshoppers. 

Bayern Munich expected more from the current transfer window. However, they failed to sign Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams. Also, Stuttgart rejected offers for striker Nick Woltemade. On the bright side, Bayern signed Luis Diaz (who came from Liverpool), Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen), and Tom Bischoff (Hoffenheim). 

Bayern Munich have injury problems at the start of the season. Jamal Musiala, Hiroki Ito, and Alphonso Davies have long-term injuries and will not play on Saturday in Stuttgart.
