Manchester City have been a dominant force in England, winning six out of the last seven league titles. This year, they went to their usual good start in all competitions. However, the injuries are piling up, and the Citizens really slowed down, losing four straight in all competitions before the international break. So, this break definitely came in handy for Guardiola to consolidate the team. Right now, they are 2nd in the Premier League, five points behind the league's leader, Liverpool. Considering Liverpool has a game against Southampton, it is crucial for MC to win points because the Reds will most likely collect all three points.
Tottenham have constantly been in the upper part of the league's table, but winning trophies haven't been their strong suit. Even though coach Ange Postecoglou said that he always wins silverware in his second year, we cannot say we share his optimism. Right now, the Spurs are in 10th place with 16 points in 11 rounds, but still three points away from the Champions League spots. So, with a couple of good results, they could significantly move on the league's table.
Manchester City vs Tottenham pick: Over 3.5 goals
MC totally collapsed defensively in recent games. They allowed ten goals in the last four matches in all competitions, and they haven't had too challenging schedule. The main reason for their defensive collapse was the injuries of important players, which forced Guardiola to rotate and play some players out of their positions. On the other hand, City's offensive potential is fantastic, especially at home, where they scored two or more goals in six out of eight games in all competitions.
Tottenham have constantly played high-scoring games recently. They were over 2.5 goals in the last four and over 3.5 in two out of the last three matches. The Spurs also had massive problems defensively, especially away from home, where they had just one clean sheet in eight matches, and they mostly faced teams much weaker than MC.
Additionally, these teams met around a month ago in the Carabao Cup when Tottenham won 2:1. We saw three goals in the first half and a lot of chances in the second half, and it was a miracle we didn't see more goals.
Considering all the above, we expect a high-scoring game, with both teams scoring.

Manchester City are having major injury problems, especially at the back. According to credible sources, the team could miss up to ten important players - Rodri, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Matheus Nunes, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, Philip Foden, Jack Grealish, and Oscar Bobb.
The positive thing is that Kevin De Bruyne has almost fully recovered from his injury, and we could see him finally back in the starting lineup.

Tottenham Hotspur team news
According to England media reports, Rodrigo Bentancur received a seven-game suspension due to racial comments on a Uruguayan TV show. The club appealed against the length of the ban because they believe that the sanction is too severe.
Due to injuries, the team will miss Micky van de Ven, Wilson Odobert, and Richarlison, while Timo Werner, Cristian Romero, and Mikey Moore are listed as questionable.
