Midtjylland will be looking to maintain their 100% record against Ferencvaros when they travel to Hungary next week for the second leg of their Champions League third qualifying round tie.

The hosts were knocked out of the Champions League in the first qualifying round last season after a 3-0 defeat at the hands of KI on aggregate. Pascal Jansen's side were given the chance to seek redemption after winning the Hungarian top flight in 2023-24, and they have made good use of it so far. The Greens beat The New Saints 7-1 on aggregate to make in through the third round but things aren't in their hands after the first leg display.

Midtjylland meanwhile have not looked like the side that missed out on the Champions League last season. The Danish side thrashed Andorra's UE Santa Coloma 4-0 on aggregate in the second qualifying round and produced a similar performance against Ferencvaros in the first leg of the third round, winning 2-0 on home soil. Midtjylland have now won each of their last three meetings with, two of those came in the Europa League.

Ferencvaros may have conceded twice in the first leg without reply, but they can't be ruled out in this fixture, especially as the return leg will be played at the Groupama Arena, where they won their last European game 5-0. Jansen's men won each of their last four home games and are unbeaten in six in all competitions.

Ferencvaros games in Europe are known for being entertaining. Three or more goals were scored in each of the last six and I expect Tuesday's game to be similar.
