An entertaining Premier League matchup is expected at Villa Park on Saturday as Aston Villa takes on Fulham.

Aston Villa return to VIlla Park after a difficult week saw them lose crucial matches at Manchester City and Crystal Palace. Having conceded a stoppage-time goal at the Etihad to fall to a painful 2:1 PL defeat, the Villains saw their FA Cup hopes dashed in a disastrous 3:0 loss against the Eagles at Wembley.

Much stronger on their own patch, Unai Emery's side claimed victories in each of their last three home PL games, while they remain unbeaten in 16 PL home games since August.

Despite their strong record at Villa Park, clean sheets have been rare for the Villains. BTTS occurred in all but one of their last 13 PL games in Birmingham. Nine of those games also saw a minimum of three goals scored, and both outcomes seem likely this weekend. 

Fulham makes the trip to Birmingham in high spirits after a 2:1 win at Southampton last weekend maintained their hopes of European qualification. Placed eighth in the division, and now just six points behind the home side, Marco Silva's side have enjoyed a brilliant campaign, and will surely see this fixture as an opportunity to close the gap on the Villians.

Like Villa, goals can usually be expected when Fulham are in action. Nine of their 11 previous away PL games saw BTTS while five of their last six on the road also saw over 2.5 goals scored.

With each of the last three meetings between these sides seeing BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored, the chances of a repeat seems high this weekend.
