Wales will be confident of maintaining their excellent form when they take on Liechtenstein in Cardiff in the first of two end-of-season fixtures this week.

Since the appointment of Craig Bellamy last year, the Dragons have enjoyed a fine run of form, remaining unbeaten in eight games played, with four victories and four draws collected.

The hosts began their bid for World Cup qualification in strong fashion, picking up four points from their first two fixtures against Kazakhstan (3:1) and North Macedonia (1:1). Anything other than another win on Friday would be regarded as disastrous for Welsh hopes of joining the World Cup party next summer.

Still, that outcome seems highly unlikely given the hosts strong form, particularly in Cardiff. Wales claimed victories in each of their last three home games, scoring eight goals in the process, including a commanding 4:1 win against Iceland at the back-end of last year.

Liechtenstein make the trip to Wales in predictably poor form. Konrad Fünfstück´s side lost each of their last four games, including home reversals against North Macedonia (3:0) and Kazakhstan (2:0) in their first two World Cup qualifiers.

A dismal record in WC qualification games illustrates the task at hand for the away side on Friday. Liechtenstein lost 61 and won just two of 70 qualifiers since their debut in the qualification process in 1996. 

With Wales in fine fettle, especially in front of their passionate home support, I expect a commanding win on Friday. I'm backing the hosts to score at least three goals in a routine victory in Cardiff.
