- Venue: Estadio Monumental de Maturín
The South American qualifying campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup continues this weekend, with Venezuela hosting Bolivia.
The two sides are separated by just one point and are close neighbours in the bottom four.
Venezuela had the chance to end their nine-match winless run when they hosted Peru, who are bottom of the group, back in March, and they took advantage of the opportunity. La Vinotinto secured a 1–0 victory thanks to Salomón Rondón's penalty and will be hoping for another three points this weekend. However, head coach Fernando Batista will be concerned that his team has not won consecutive games since July.
Meanwhile, Bolivia are without a win in their last five World Cup qualifiers. Following their humiliating 3-1 defeat to Peru at the start of the March international break, La Verde improved with a goalless draw against Uruguay — a game in which they dominated proceedings, with 66% possession and 32 attempts on goal.
Venezuela vs Bolivia Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
Although Bolivia failed to score in three of their last five matches, they have a strong track record against Venezuela and I expect them to score more than once this weekend. La Verde scored eight goals in the last three meetings between the two sides alone, and found the net at least once in each of the last five matches.
Venezuela have also found it easy to score in recent months, boasting at least one goal in each of their last seven games. However, Fernando Batista’s side are struggling defensively and conceded nine goals in their last four games alone.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
- Venezuela vs Bolivia prediction: 2-2

Venezuela team news
Venezuela captain Salomón Rondón enjoyed a successful 2024-25 campaign with Liga MX club Pachuca, scoring 15 goals in 33 games, and is expected to lead the line for his nation this weekend.
He is expected to be supported in the final third by Major League Soccer (MLS) forward Josef Martínez, while Jefferson Savarino will be the man to watch in midfield.

Bolivia team news
Bolivia head coach Óscar Villegas will have to make do without Ramiro Vaca, who tested positive for a banned substance.
Vaca's absence will be hugely felt, as the 25-year-old played 180 minutes in the two games against Peru and Uruguay during the last international break.
