Trabzonspor vs Kocaelispor prediction 11.08.2025 | Super Lig

Only a few years ago, Trabzonspor were the best team in Turkey. Since the only Super Lig title for the team from Papara Park in the 21st century, a lot of things have changed. Last season, Trabzonspor ended 7th on the table, so they won't even play in the European competitions this season. Trabzonspor were sold in the previous weeks as they ended the preseason with a 2-2-1 record. In the last test, Fatih Tekke's team won 3-1 against Umraniyespor. A victory like that will give Trabzonspor a lot of confidence ahead of the league start. 

This summer, Trabzonspor left a few important players like Pedro Malheiro, Simon Banza, and John Lundstram, but it seems that Tekke's team signed good replacements. The most significant addition this summer is Paul Onuachu, who came from Southampton. The team also signed Kazeem Olaigbe (Rennes), Felipe Augusto (Cercle Brugge), and Wagner Pina (Estoril). Also, there are rumors that Trabzonspor could sign Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid. 

Kocaelispor were excellent last season in the second level of Turkish football. They won the title and returned to the Super Lig for the first time since 2009. Kocaelispor have big ambitions, but they are still one of the teams with the lowest budget in the strongest competition in Turkey, and it is unrealistic to expect something more than the relegation battle in the 2025/26 season. Kocaelispor had only two preseason matches this summer in which they won against Adana Demirspor (5-0) and Wydad (2-0). 

Kocaelispor are much better than last season. Most important players from the previous year stayed in the club. The biggest addition for Kocaelispor this summer is Bruno Petkovic, who scored four league goals last season for Dinamo Zagreb. The important signings are also Aleksandar Jovanovic (Partizan), Joseph Nonge (Juve Next Gen), Massadio Haidara (Brest), Anfernee Dijksteel (Middlesbrough), and Mateusz Wieteska (Cagliari).
