In their pursuit of European competition, Bologna will head to Stadio Olimpico Grande to face Torino in Saturday's Serie A clash.
After a very dismal run of six straight games in the Italy's top flight without a win, picking up just two points in the process, Torino managed to regain their lost confidence last weekend when they triumphed over Empoli 1-0 away from home. With that much-needed three-point haul, the Piedmont club has climbed to 11th place in Serie A, but there’s little cause for optimism, as they are now much closer to the bottom three than to the European positions.
In contrast, it appears Bologna is gradually adapting to the new system under their manager Vincenzo Italiano, who is determined to replicate the success of his predecessor Thiago Motta, who led the Emilia-Romagna side to a Champions League spot last season. With 15 league games played thus far, Rossoblu currently occupy seventh place with a decent 25-point haul, but in order to stay in the hund for a European football, they must turn their draws into wins.
Torino vs Bologna Betting Tips: UNDER 2.5
It's tough to pick a winner in this matchup, as we expect a tactical battle where the focus will be on defense, meaning a lack of goals is very much on the cards. Che Adams’ lone strike against Empoli last time out marked Torino's first goal in their last three Serie A matches, breaking their scoring drought. Scoring goals has become a big issue for Paolo Vanoli’s side lately, with the Bulls being kept off the scoresheet in five of their last seven top-flight matches. Bologna’s offensive unit has been lackluster on the road, as they’ve gone scoreless in three of their last six away games in all competitions. Given the recent encounters between these rivals have been dull and uneventful, and the 2.5-goal threshold hasn’t been breached in four of the last five head-to-heads, we expect another quiet affair between two teams that struggle to create chances in front of goal.
