- Competition: Conference League Qualifiers, 2nd Round, 1st Leg
- Date: Wednesday, 23th July, 2025
- Kickoff: 19:00 UK / 20:00 CEST
- Venue: Park Hall (Oswestry)
On Wednesday evening, the Welsh and Luxembourg champs, TNS and Differdange, will face off against each other in the second round of the Conference League at Park Hall in Oswestry.
TNS have been a dominant force in the domestic league, winning 13 league titles over the last 17 years. Last season, besides winning the domestic league, they won the Cup as well. The Saints also secured their first appearance in the European Group phase in the Conference League, where they weren't too successful, losing five out of six matches. This year, after losing to Shkendija in the Champions League Qualifiers, the Saints will now move to the Conference League Qualifiers and try to repeat last season's success.
Differdange, just like TNS, won the double last year. They secured the title in dominant fashion, leaving the second-placed UNA Strassen 18 points behind. In Europe, Differdange lost to Drita on a 4:2 aggregate and will now try to move past the second round qualifying round for the first time in a very long time. The last time they were in the third qualifying round was over a decade ago in the 2013/14 season.
TNS vs Differdange pick: Under 2.5 goals
TNS went under 2.5 goals in both games of the first round of the CL Qualifiers against Shkendija. Moreover, if we combine the friendly matches, they went under 2.5 goals in four consecutive games. Also, last season, they had problems scoring in Europe and scored one or zero goals in 11 out of 14 matches - 79%.
Differdange lost 1:0 on the road to Drita in the previous game. They generally have massive problems away from home in European Qualifiers. In the last 12 road European games, they scored one or zero goals on 10 occasions - 83%.
Considering all the above and the fact that neither team impressed offensively in the CL Qualifiers, we believe that an under 2.5 goals bet is the safest option for the upcoming tie.
TNS team news
Daniel Redmond suffered an injury in the previous game against Shkendija and had to leave the field around ten minutes before the end of the match. His potential injury could be a massive factor. Additionally, midfielder Leo Smith suffered an injury in the game before the last one and should remain sidelined.
