An intriguing contest can be expected in Dublin this weekend with an in-form Waterford looking to test a St. Patrick's Athletic side that boasts a superb record at Richmond Park. 

St Pats return to home comforts after a 4:0 thrashing at league leaders Shamrock Rovers on Monday. Stephen Kenny's side have now lost each of their last four away games, and three of their four most recent fixtures, leaving them 5th in the division, but only two points behind second-placed Derry City.

While recent results have not been great, St Patrick's remain a force in home fixtures. Kenny's men are unbeaten in 15 Premier Division games at Richmond Park since June 2024, with 11 victories picked up during that unvanquished sequence. The Saints claimed five wins in their seven most recent home games, including a dramatic 3:2 win against Cork City last Friday. 

Waterford come into Friday's fixture looking to bounce back from a 3:1 home reversal, also against league leaders Shamrock, in their most recent outing last Friday. After an impressive four-game winning run, John Coleman's men slipped to a fifth home defeat of the season. 

Inconsistency has played the Blues this season, particularly on the road. Waterford lost five of their last seven away fixtures, and while they did win their last two on their travels, are likely to struggle against a St Pats side that does their best work at Richmond Park.
