- Competition: EURO U19
- Date: Friday, 13th June, 2025
- Kickoff: 16:00 UK / 17:00 CEST
- Venue: Superbet Arena - Giulesti (Bucharest)
Another EURO U19 is set to begin in Romania. The opening match features the reigning champions, Spain U19, who will face Denmark U19 at the Superbet Arena - Giulesti in Bucharest.
Spain U19 had a fantastic run last year, winning the competition fairly dominantly. Although only a few players from last year's squad are present this time, Spain remains one of the top contenders for the title. During the qualifying rounds, they faced challenging opponents, competing against Italy U19, France U19, and Latvia U19. Despite these tough opponents, Spain finished top of their group and secured their place in the tournament once again.
Denmark U19 managed to qualify for the last EURO U19 but exited the competition in the group stage after finishing fourth in a group alongside France U19, Spain U19, and Turkey U19. However, this year, their U19 team looks significantly better, considering they performed exceptionally well in the Qualifiers, winning all six games. However, we believe they had a fairly easy route, and that is one of the main reasons for their dominant run.
Spain U19 vs Denmark U19 pick: Spain U19 to win
If we look at the Qualifiers without considering the other team's opponents, we might get the impression that Denmark U19 had a better cycle. However, Spain faced some formidable teams, including Italy and France, two-time and seven-time European champions. So, in fact, Spain U19 had better Qualifiers, as they had already eliminated two big favorites for the EURO U19 title.
In the previous EURO U19, these teams met in the group phase. Spain U19 managed to win 2:1 despite receiving a red card around 15 minutes before the end of the match.
Until the end of the first round, it is very hard to predict what we can expect from any team in the competition. However, we believe that Spain U19 simply have more talent on the team, and betting on them seems like the best option for this opening EURO U19 game.

Spain U19 team news
The squad primarily includes players who compete for the U19 or B teams in Spain. Most of the players (six) come from Barcelona, and three of them are from Atletico Madrid. Interestingly, no players from Real Madrid B or U19 team are called for the EURO U19.
One of the team's best players, Jesus Rodriguez, was promoted from the U19 to the U21 team and will participate in the U21 EURO this summer. The talented winger became one of the important players for Real Betis in the last part of the season, and his absence will definitely be a factor.
