Sandefjord vs Viking prediction 10.08.2025 | Eliteserien

After five seasons in which Sandefjord wasn't a significant factor, they have a chance to fight for the Conference League spot. Sandefjord are currently five points behind the desired position. The last few weeks were far from impressive for Sandefjord as they won only three of the previous six matches. Last weekend, Andreas Tegstrom's team lost 2-1 on the road against Valerenga. The guests probably deserved more, but Sandefjord went home empty-handed that time. 

Sandefjord have some problems with missing players. They will be without Jakob Dunsby and Elias Hadaya. Filip Loftesnes-Bjune, Marcus Melchior, and Storm Pettersen are questionable, and their status will be clearer closer to the kickoff. 

Viking haven't won the Norwegian championship title since 1991, and the current season seems like a perfect opportunity. They are at the top of the table for most of the year, but after a recent drop in form, Viking have only one point more than Bodo/Glimt, with one game more played. Bjarte Lunde Aarsheim returned to the right track with three wins in a row in all competitions. However, in their most recent match, Viking lost 3-1 at home in the Conference League qualifications against Basaksehir. The home side ended the game with eight shots on the goal more than their opponent, but their leaky defense cost them a better result. 

Since the last league round, Viking signed Veton Berisha from Molde. The forward, who has four goals and two assists in nine Eliteserien appearances this year, already debuted on Thursday for Viking against Basaksehir and assisted on the only goal. 

Viking's Ruben Kristensen Alte got another yellow card in the previous Eliteserien round and will skip the upcoming clash in Sandefjord due to suspension. He should be the only unavailable player for Viking. However, the head coach, Bjarte Ludne Aarsheim, might decide to rotate part of the squad as they will have the game in Turkey next week.
