Paris Saint-Germain return to competitive action after a surprise 3:0 defeat against Chelsea in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup in July. Despite that disappointment, the Parisiens enjoyed a stellar campaign, including their remarkable 5:0 triumph in the final of the Champions League. 

An outstanding run saw Luis Enrique's men claim victory in ten of their last 12 matches, while they covered a -1 handicap in nine of their last ten wins. 

Dominant against English opponents in their UCL winning run, PSG eliminated Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Arsenal en-route to their title-triumph earlier this year.

Spanish boss Enrique has a strong squad to choose from this week, however Portuguese midfielder Joan Neves is suspended. Warren Zaire-Emery is likely to deputise for the Parisiens.

Tottenham face their first competitive fixture under new head coach Thomas Franck after a disappointing 4:0 defeat against Bayern Munich in their final warm-up fixture of the summer. 

A mixed bag of pre-season performances saw Spurs win two and draw three matches before their beatdown in Bavaria. 

The Europa League champions have struggled to find much winning form in 2025, while they have won just two of seven previous fixtures.

Tottenham remain without Radu Dragusin, who is sidelined until late 2025 with an ACL injury. James Maddison has also suffered an ACL rupture and is likely to miss most of the season. 

Dejan Kulusevski is also expected to miss out, while Manor Solomon, Koka Takai, Destiny Udogie and Dominic Solanke are unavailable.
