Legia Warszawa
Europa League
The first leg in Cyprus marked the first ever meeting between the two teams. Legia Warsaw lost the match 4:1, suffering their first defeat against Cypriot sides in seven matches. They had won each of the previous six.
Legia Warszawa team overview
Legia Warsaw extended their three-year title drought in the Polish top flight with a fifth-place finish last season. However, there has been a positive reaction, with the club currently sitting in second place after four games of the 2025–26 campaign.
In terms of European football, Legia Warsaw began their journey in the first round of the Europa League this season.
Edward Iordănescu’s team won both home and away against FC Aktobe in that match, before securing a place in the third round with a 4:3 aggregate victory over Banik.
The Militarians failed to live up to expectations in the first leg of the third round, losing 4:1. They have one last chance to salvage their European campaign at home this week
and a positive for them is that they have no injuries. However, Bartosz Kapustka is suspended following his red card in the first leg.

AEK Larnaca team overview
Larnaca have been in blistering form over the last couple of months. They are unbeaten in nine games across all competitions, including the Cypriot Cup Final, which they won 5:4 on penalties after a goalless draw.
Like their hosts, Imanol Idiakez’s team have played five Europa League qualifying games this season. The first round was decided on penalties after a 2:2 draw over two legs, while they won the second leg 3:2.
Heading into Thursday’s game with a three-goal advantage, the Yellow-Greens have a good chance of reaching the Europa League group stage for the first time since 2022.
However, they will have to finish the job started a week ago without Valentin Roberge who picked up an ankle injury 27 minutes into the first leg. The visitors’ injury list also includes Giorgos Naoum and Waldo Rubio (both muscle) and Marcus Rohdén (knee).

Prediction
Legia Warsaw may have lost the first leg 4:1, but you can't write them off at home, where they are unbeaten in five matches. Four of those matches ended in victory though only one produced more than three goals. Larnaca have been solid in defence in their recent away games, conceding fewer than 1.5 goals in six of their last nine such fixtures. We are therefore predicting a 2-1 win for Legia.
Three reasons we don’t expect more than three goals in this game
- Only one of the last nine home games of Legia Warszawa produced more than three goals.
- Bets on under 3.5 goals won in four of the last five games of AEK Larnaca.
- Only three of the last ten games of Legia Warszawa produced more than ten goals.
Main prediction -
Under 3.5 goals
