A highly anticipated clash takes place in Poland on Wednesday evening as Lech Poznań and Crvena zvezda meet in the Champions League. This is the first of a two-leg tie, after which one of the teams will compete in the play-offs for the League Phase of the competition. Despite the first leg being in Poland, the bookies aren't backing either team, and we'll explain why in our Lech Poznań vs Crvena zvezda prediction.
H2H stats
The last time these two sides met was in a friendly back in 2010. Lech Poznań went into the half-time break with a two-goal advantage, but Crvena zvezda showed fighting spirit in the second half, getting one goal back. The game ended 3:1 in favour of the Polish side.
Lech Poznan team overview
Lech Poznań have been on fire over the last couple of months. The Polish side bring a four-match winning streak into Wednesday’s game - a run that saw them score four or more goals in two of those matches.
Two of those victories were in the second qualifying round of the Champions League. Niels Frederiksen’s team hosted Breiðablik in the first leg, winning 7:1, and also came out on top in the second leg with a 1:0 victory.
Lech Poznań fans will be hoping that this blistering form continues on Wednesday evening, but the team will be without four players due to injury.
These are Radosław Murawski (leg), Patryk Wolański and Daniel Håkansson (both surgery), and Bartosz Baranowski (muscle).

FK Crvena Zvezda team overview
Crvena Zvezda can also boast about their recent form, having won each of their last four matches with a combined score of 17:2.
Their Champions League second-round qualifying tie saw them face Gibraltar National League side Lincoln Red Imps. The Red-Whites won both legs, keeping one clean sheet in the process, with Bruno Duarte scoring twice over the two games.
As no players were injured over the two legs, head coach Vladan Milojević may decide to use the same XI on Wednesday in Poland.

Prediction
With both Lech Poznań and Crvena zvezda having won all of their last four matches, I think we are going to have a close game. The hosts also conceded under 1.5 goals in all but one of their last four matches, while the visitors conceded just four goals in their last six. Taking this into account, we are backing the under 2.5 goals option.
Three reasons we expect under 2.5 goals in this game
- The last two away games of Crvena Zvezda in Europe produced just two goals.
- Crvena Zvezda conceded only three goals in their last five matches.
- Lech Poznan conceded under one goal in three of their last four matches.
Main prediction Lech Poznan - Crvena Zvezda
Under 2.5 goals
