An intriguing encounter awaits us on Tuesday evening, when Shkendija welcome Qarabağ to the Toše Proeski Arena in Skopje. It will be the first leg of a two-legged tie for a place in the Play-Offs for a place Champions League League Phase. The match is expected to be close, as both sides have already registered 2+ wins in Europe this season.
H2H stats
Tuesday’s game will be the first time these two sides have met in any competition. Both teams have experience of competing in European football, with Shkendija having played in the qualifying rounds in each of the last eleven seasons, and the visitors having competed in Europa League's new League phase last season.
KF Shkendija team overview
Shkendija have played four matches in the Champions League qualifying rounds so far this season and remained undefeated in all of them.
The Ballists won three matches whilst also keeping two clean sheets, so they will be confident of securing an advantage of Tuesday ahead of the second leg.
Adding to their positive momentum is the fact that they have lost just one of their last seven European home matches, registering five wins and one draw.

Qarabag FK team overview
Qarabağ have won each of the last three Azerbaijan Premier League campaigns. The most recent victory was secured with a 14-point margin over second-placed Zira, but the overall sentiment at the end of the season was negative as they lost the Azerbaijan Cup final 3:2 to Sabah.
There was virtually no response during pre-season with the Horsemen losing two of their three friendlies. They performed much better in Europe, however, beating Shelbourne 4-0 over two legs in the second qualifying round and will hope for a similar display on Tuesday.
Goalkeeper Amin Ramazanov has been out since July last year due to a cruciate ligament injury and the trip to North Macedonia comes too soon for him.

Prediction
With Tuesday’s game marking the first ever meeting between the two sides, it is hard to predict a clear winner, but goals are certainly on the cards. Shkendija have failed to keep a clean sheet in two of their last three games, and only have three clean sheets to their name in their last fourteen home European games. The visitors failed to keep a clean sheet in five of their last six away games in Europe.
Three reasons we expect at least three goals in this game
- Six of the last seven away games of Qarabag in Europe produced over 2.5 goals.
- Three of the last six home European games of Shkendija ended with 3+ goals.
- Bets on over 2.5 goals won in all but one of the last six games of Qarabag.
Main prediction Skendija 79 - Qarabag FK
Over 2.5 goals
