- Date: Tuesday, 10th June, 2025
- Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CEST
- Venue: Helsinki Olympic Stadium (Helsinki)
Finland are still chasing their first-ever World Cup appearance. They have never qualified for the tournament, and in the EURO, they've made just one appearance - in 2020, where they were eliminated in the group stage. Before this qualifying cycle, "Huuhkajat" played in UEFA Nations League B and were terrible, losing all six games, and it was obvious they did not belong in that company. In the WC Qualifiers, they are in 2nd place with four points in three games, but only because the Netherlands played only one match. Securing a top-two finish will be tough, and the upcoming match against Poland could be crucial to keeping their qualification hopes alive.
Poland, on the other hand, are regulars at major tournaments. They played in the last two World Cups and in the last five EUROS. Unfortunately, the Poles had a terrible UEFA Nations League (A) campaign before these Qualifiers, as they finished last and were relegated to League B. When it comes to WC Qualifiers, they opened with two wins over Malta and Lithuania and sit at the top spot. Still, most football pundits weren't impressed by their performances in those matches, and this game against Finland is probably their first "real" test.
Finland vs Poland pick: Under 2.5 goals
Finland are not among the best offensive teams, far from it. In the first three games, they scored three goals, but all of them were against bad teams - Malta and Lithuania. In the match against the Netherlands, they failed to score (2:0 loss) while creating very few scoring chances. In the end, they had only 0.13xG! We could see them struggle to score in the UEFA Nations League against solid teams, considering they only managed to do so twice in six games against England, Ireland, and Greece. So, scoring against Poland seems like a massive challenge.
Poland were under 2.5 goals in the last three games (two WC Qualifiers and one Friendly match). They won those games without conceding a goal, but their offensive performance wasn't up to the expected level, considering they faced relatively weak teams - Moldova, Malta, and Lithuania.
We firmly believe that Poland are a better team overall. However, we are reluctant to bet on them winning due to their poor road record. Considering all the above, an under 2.5 goals bet seems like the best option for this World Cup Qualifiers match.

Finland team news
After a 2:0 loss against Netherlands, coach Jacob Friis spoke to the media. He was satisfied with the game, saying they played well and created some chances. However, the coach criticized his teams for being too soft in defending their box. After the match, winger Oliver Antman also spoke to the media. He said he should be much more clinical. "A couple of times, I got so close to the goal, in such a good spot," the 23-year-old added.

Poland team news
After a 2:0 over Moldova in the previous (friendly) match, the coach spoke to the media. He said they created numerous chances and should probably win by a larger margin. However, the coach focused mostly on the newest injuries. According to him, Jan Bednarek and Sebastian Szymański left the field due to injuries and are questionable for the upcoming match. "The most important thing is for the staff to get them back on their feet before the match with Finland," the coach added.
Also, due to the circumstances and the intensity of the club season, coach Michal Probierz decided to give a rest to his star, Robert Lewandowski. The Barcelona star will miss the Finland match but is expected to return to the national team in September.
